• Every year 1 in 5 children experience a mental health issue. However studies have shown that only 1 in every 5 children that need services actually receive them.
  • Early disruptions in emotional development and relationships can have long-standing negative consequences.
  • The rate of emotional and behavioral problems among homeless children is three times the rate of non-homeless children. By age 5, 40% of homeless children will develop a mental health issue.
  • Disadvantaged children are at greater risk of abuse, intergenerational violence, mental health and health issues, academic difficulties, and increased stress in their living situations.


The Whole Child’s multidisciplinary team of Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Case Managers, Parent Partners & Educators provide a comprehensive array of mental health services utilizing evidenced based practice models to children (ages 0-21) and their families.

Dear Friends and Family of The Whole Child:

The Whole Child has undergone some recent management changes. After many years of service, Chief Executive Officer, Evelyn Castro-Guillen left the employment of The Whole Child. The Board of Directors thanks Ms. Castro-Guillen for her service and wishes her the best in her future endeavors.
