Car Seat Safety Workshop
Hosted the 3rd Thursday of each month from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, The Whole Child offers a FREE Car Seat Safety Workshop. Please note that the workshop is offered in English one month and Spanish the next month. It is open to all to attend, but is limited to ten participants. The Whole Child’s Fundraiser at Menchie’s
Thank you for supporting The Whole Child by eating frozen yogurt! From July 16-31, every time someone visited the Menchie’s located in the Pico Rivera Plaza (8880 East Whittier Blvd, Pico Rivera, CA), next door to the Jamba Juice, and mentioned The Whole Child, they donated 5% of your total purchase back to our programs and services.
Back-to-School Drive for the Children of The Whole Child
Thank you to those that purchased a few additional items for the children at The Whole Child. From July 20-29th, we collected new sweaters, shoes, socks, and undergarments for children, between the ages of five and ten years old.
Ribbon Cutting Celebration and Open House
The community joined us as we celebrated the completion of our Healing Children From the Group Up Capital Project and enjoyed live music, light refreshments, and door prizes at our Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, June 16, 2016. Thank you to everyone that attended!
Easter Baskets for The Whole Child
On Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 6:00 pm Brookdale Uptown Whittier hosted their free monthly Business Mixer. At February’s mixer, they collected Easter Baskets for the children served at The Whole Child. Thank you for those that donated!
Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count
Thank you to everyone that volunteered for the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count for Whittier, Pico Rivera, Montebello and Santa Fe Springs on January 26, 2016. We completed all of our census tracks!
2015 Holiday Season

Thank you to the ladies of the Delta Kappa Gamma – Gamma Zeta Chapter for donating 22 ‘Nights Out’ (gift certificates for dinner and a movie for the entire family) for our Family Housing Program!
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus – Norwalk for a wonderful holiday party and gifts for some of our families living in shelters.
Thank you to everyone that participated in our Adopt-A-Family Program! Thanks to you 116 families were adopted. That’s 154 adults and 259 children experiencing the gift of Christmas because of your generosity!!
