Research and Outcomes Analyst

The Whole Child seeks a dynamic Research and Outcomes Analyst to join our team in Whittier, CA. The position is responsible for conducting research and evaluation projects for the agency. In addition, this position is also responsible for conducting program evaluations for services funded by Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, First 5 Los Angeles, and Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority as well as services funded by private foundations. This position will assist with designing evaluation plans for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and/or other grant writing opportunities. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research and evaluation projects
  • Supervising data collection and data entry
  • Outlining and executing data analysis plans
  • Applying appropriate statistical tests
  • Designing tables and graphics to present results
  • Writing research and outcomes reports
  • Presenting research findings internally and externally
  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Assisting in developing data collection tools
  • Developing and designing departmental reports for individual and group performance metrics
  • Tracking all clinical outcome measures for quality of care issues
  • Assisting with quality improvement projects

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in an appropriate social science discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning (e.g., psychology, social work, public health)
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working as a research analyst in a mental health and/or non-profit setting
  • Candidate must have in depth knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting statistical analyses
  • Proficient in SPSS and Microsoft Office Products (e.g., WORD, EXCEL)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, multitasking, documentation, presentation and problem solving skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and get along well with others (e.g., team player, open to feedback)
  • Demonstrated understanding of public funded contracts (e.g., county, state, and federal) pertaining to children’s mental health and family housing.
  • Familiar with children’s evidence-based practices and outcome measures used by Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health
  • Bilingual Spanish highly desirable
